Scene: Her parents were fighting, and she wanted none of it. She dropped her math homework after the third yell and stormed up the stairs, burst into the kitchen. Her mom's hands went up as Amy began to open her mouth, but it wasn't a quick enough sign to stop her dad's hand from whipping down with a piercing slap to her mom's cheek. Her mom fell down, wailing silently as the skin turned from beet red to pale white.
